Hey, Sam here! As I’m starting to grow my team, I wanted to create a few blog posts to introduce each new designer! I figured I’d kick things off by sharing more about myself with this intro post! Keep reading to learn more about me.
What’s your favorite thing about working as a web designer?
I love getting to meet new people and learn about the work they love! It fuels me so much to know I can play a role in growing someone’s business, and we’ve worked with some crazy-amazing clients. I love building templates and custom sites that get creatives back to doing what they love.
What do you love about working with wedding professionals and adventurous creatives?
Oh my gosh, I LOVE learning more about creatives who love the outdoors! Adventurous photographers (especially in the wedding industry) have such a gorgeous style and I can’t get enough of their work. I love working with boho storytellers who aren’t afraid to get muddy in search of the perfect shot.
Where are you based?
When I launched my business, I was in a tiny beach town just outside of Indiana Dunes National Park, just a short drive from Chicago. After getting married, my husband and I moved to Coloroado!
What’s your Enneagram number?
I’m a Type 9 – The Peacemaker. I’ve always been focused on making things as easy and delightful as possible, and I really think that’s carried over into my business and client process.
What’s your favorite drink?
Your girl is obsessed with peppermint tea. I’ve never had much of a sweet tooth, but I can get down with some fresh-pressed carrot, orange, and ginger juice.
What’s your favorite book?
I’m going through a big foodie phase right now, so any type of cookbook with gorgeous photos and funny stories absolutely has my attention.
Favorite TV show?
I can’t get enough of The Crocodile Hunter reruns. I’m also a huge fan of Parks and Rec, The Office, and It’s Alive with Brad.
What’s your favorite place to travel?
I absolutely loved traveling to New Zealand, and can’t wait to bring Daniel there someday! I really loved the Coromandel Peninsula and have never visited a place more magical than Cathedral Cove. I also got to trek the Tongariro Crossing while I was there, so I can literally say I walked into Mordor—since that’s where they filmed the scenes along Mt. Doom.
What’s your favorite food?
Daniel and I have been making a lot of food from scratch lately, and I’m particularly obsessed with these recipes for a Black Pepper Tofu & Asparagus dish and this Ginger Garlic Noodle Soup with Bok Choy.
How do you spend your time when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I love to hit the trails and spend as much time outside as possible.
Is there anything else fun that you want to share?
- I grew up in a family that trains martial arts, so I’ve learned a bit of Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai over the years.
- I spent my summers in college working at a camp where I got to lead horseback trail rides for all sorts of campers, including people who were blind and visually impaired. We had one horse that was also blind, and those campers were always delighted to ride a horse that navigated they same way they do—by touch and sound!
- I grew up along the Indiana Dunes National Park in the Midwest, then moved to Colorado in my 20s!
