She was everything I wanted to be — adventurous, creative, inspiring. An amazing designer who spends her free time running betas on big walls.
Like many others in the design community, I was heartbroken this week to hear that Giselle passed away after a fall during her climbing trip in Peru. I’ve been a loyal listener to Better: The Brand Designer Podcast that she co-hosted with Jen of Hello June Creative, and loved the inspiration I found there and from her work at Wander Design Co.
Everything about her online presence resonated with me, down to her mission statement — “Brand & website design studio helping companies blaze lasting trails for positive change” and excitement over contributing to the 1% For the Planet Fund.
Even though we only chatted in the DMs a handful of times, Giselle was a constant inspiration for me. Her openness and willingness to share everything she learned, her enthusiasm for building a business that fueled the lifestyle she wanted… everything about her work inspired me to dream bigger and do better.
I spent the evening reading through her posts and stories, soaking in her contagious joy and stoke for everyone and everything she came into contact with.
Giselle knew the risks of rock climbing, and sent every ascent with her trademark joy and expertise. Her bright light in the design and adventure communities will be missed, but she’ll always be there — a guiding north star for everyone who seeks to build a business that fuels their lifestyle.
